How can previews be moved to another drive?
Moving of previews to another directory or another drive is not directly supported by Excire Foto. However, there are functions in your operating system that you can use to achieve the same purpose. Note that this is for advanced users only and should be conducted at your own risk.
Mac
- Close Excire Foto
- Move the directory previews.exfoto from your Excire Foto database directory to the desired directory or drive (the default database is located at "/Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/excire-foto")
- Create a symbolic link (symlink) where the previews directory was located previously (command: ln -s). Detailed instructions on creating symlinks can be found here: https://www.howtogeek.com/297721/how-to-...%20%2Ds%20.
- Start Excire Foto
Windows
- Close Excire Foto

The same procedure works for the directories 1to1.exfoto (for 1:1 previews) and thumbnails.exfoto (for thumbnails).
